Those who watched the Super Bowl last Sunday know which two teams were in the championship game. However, anyone who asked me who I thought would win “the game” got a surprising answer. I said that the Saints would win. Yes, I received more than a few raised eyebrows, but my answer is as true today as it was last week. The saints win. Guess what? We are the saints I speak of. The ones that have claimed Jesus Christ as our savior. In the game of life, our champion will return to claim His bride, and “Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.” - 1st Thessalonians 4:17.
I’ll admit it, life is throwing a ton of penalty markers at me right now. Delay of game, holding, you name it, I’ve had it called on me recently. Maybe you are feeling the same way. Maybe you’re “holding” on to things you need to let go, or have picked something you’ve given to God. Keep blocking. Keep resisting the devil, and He will flee. (James 4:7)
Maybe God is moving on His time and not yours. (Been there, done that). It’s ok. Just keep serving Him where you are. Do as it says in Matthew 16:24. Keep taking up that cross and following God.
My friends, I promise you that if you stay in the game until the final whistle, you will reach the goal line. You will win. Life isn’t always easy, but serving God through it is completely worth it. Keep lifting your heads towards Heaven, because our redemption is drawing near! (Luke 21:28)
